Alternate routes for the 2019 construction for each interchange can be found below
SB I-75 single lane closure is now in place. We had a few days of productive activity. The remaining work originally planned for this weekend will be delayed a few days towards the end of the week. The revised dates/activities are:
On Friday, March 15th after 9am, crews will begin to close the following ramps and they will remain CLOSED for the duration of the 2019 construction season.
- SB I-75 Entrance Ramp from EB Big Beaver
- SB I-75 Entrance Ramp from WB Big Beaver
- SB I-75 Entrance Ramp from Rochester Road
- SB I-75 Exit Ramp to Eastbound 14 Mile Road
On Saturday, March 16th starting at approximately 8:30am, two lanes of SB I-75 traffic will be shifted to the right using the right shoulder as a travel lane. This traffic shift will remain in place this construction season. This is the same configuration as the first construction segment in 2016/2017 and keeps two lanes open.
Starting Monday, March 18th at approximately 9am crews will begin closing the NB lanes and ramps for the construction season.
- NB I-75 Exit Ramp to WB Big Beaver
- Closing the right lane of NB I-75 at Big Beaver
- Closing the left lane of NB I-75 at Coolidge
We apologize for this inconvenience, but there was not enough width available to keep these bridges open safely for motorists, or for our construction workers.
Once the full traffic shift is put in place (weather permitting), two lanes of traffic will be open in each direction with a temporary concrete barrier separating northbound and southbound traffic. This is the same configuration that we implemented when constructing the freeway from Coolidge to South Boulevard in 2016 and 2017.
Alternate routes are based on individual destinations but some suggestions are posted on our website here.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to deliver these much needed improvements on I-75, in the safest manner possible. Thank you!
