There will be intermittent ramp shoulder closures on the NB I-75 ramps of the 14 Mile, Rochester and Corporate interchanges starting Monday, January 14, 2019 to Wednesday, January 16, 2019 from about 8am to 4pm. These intermittent ramp shoulder closures are required to move vehicles in and out of the interchange to start tree removals on the infield areas. This will not impact freeway traffic. There are NO freeway or ramp closures.
The preliminary work on southbound I-75 between Coolidge Highway and 13 Mile Road has concluded and all lanes are now open to traffic. Preliminary work included widening and paving the shoulders of I-75 for an eventual traffic shift next year, putting all traffic on the southbound side of the freeway with two lanes open each direction, as was done in the first segment of construction in 2016.
This news comes just one day after the northbound lanes and Rochester Road work also wrapped up early for the winter.
Work on this project will start again in early spring 2019. Thank you all for your continued patience with this important project. See full press release.
